|
|
I've had a quick look on the forum from steam but, I'm unsure about the right threads to look at so far as the technical issues I'm having with the steam file hl2.exe
This seems to be the problem file that stops responding and at times I get a bluescreen crash! Not Good.
Other occasions the game will lock up!
One thread mentioned disabling Windows Management Instrumentation
Shall I try that
Fingers crossed it runs tonight - Some days it has no issues.

|

I now believe there are two seperate problems with me running steam!
I've just had a bluescreen shutdown of windows and got the following error message:
STOP 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBFB459BE, 0xBA2AA794, 0x00000000)
nv4_disp.dll
Address BFB459BE base at BF9D5000 Date Stamp 45eef519
When I turned it back on it also mentioned OSVer 5_1_2600 SP 2_0 Product 256.1
If it was in Japenese there would be equal sense made to me!
As a knee jerk reaction, I've reinstalled the disp driver.
Any other advise pls?

nv4_disp.dll - I think is to do with your video card.
Have you installed the latest Nvidia drivers
Also make sure you have the latest Windows updates. _________________ This problem gave me so much sh*t that it had to be continued on to the next fan |

It's mostly security but I think there are bug fixes as well _________________ This problem gave me so much sh*t that it had to be continued on to the next fan |
